The black forest
The Black Forest in Baden-Würtemmberg is a beautiful region to explore with your dog. There are thousands of hiking opportunities and the Black Forest offers many beautiful views.
Gaishölle Wasserfälle - Brigittenschloss
A nice cooling hike in summer is the walk along the Gaishölle waterfall. You can park your car almost at the beginning of the gorge and from there walk up along the waterfall. Note that your dog will also have to climb the necessary steps here. In some places it is possible to avoid the steps, but in some parts it is not possible. For this reason, we chose not to walk the same way back. At the top of the waterfall, we continued our way to the Brigittenschloss. This is a well-trodden path uphill and from the ruins you have a beautiful view of the Black Forest. After this, we walked back and had lunch at restaurant Spinnerhof. From here we walked back to the car via a path diagonally downhill. This path is not very pleasant to walk down, but we felt more comfortable here than walking our dog down the steps along the waterfall.

This is not the exact route as we walked it, but you can make your own adjustments during your walk and choose what you feel like!
Ruine der burg hohenbaden - ebersteinburg
If you are near Baden-Baden, you can take a nice walk from Altes Schloss Hohenbaden to Ebersteinburg. A beautiful but long walk that takes you along narrow paths from one castle to another. Good fitness is required, as you are constantly ascending and descending. The restaurant at Ebersteinburg has unfortunately been closed since 2020, but at the Altes Schloss you can also have a drink in the beer garden or eat in the restaurant.
Even if your dog cannot climb stairs, this is a great walk as there are also opportunities to walk next to the steps.
The Altes Schloss is also worth a visit in winter. In December, it is beautifully lit up in Christmas atmosphere.
