Ireland
All you need to know
From how to travel to Ireland, to dog friendly restaurants, to beautiful beaches and more.
Our experience
After visiting Wales, Scotland and several places in England with Shampoo, we thought it was time to visit Ireland. We found Wales, Scotland and England tremendously dog-friendly and expected the same in Ireland. Although we had a great time in Ireland, we did find Ireland less dog-friendly. It is more difficult to go somewhere to eat with your dog, dogs are also not welcome in several nature reserves, dogs are not allowed on public transportation, so it is good to be aware of this before planning your trip to Ireland. If you can set yourself up for this in advance, you will have fewer surprises.
Ireland is a beautiful country, with beautiful nature and lots of opportunities to be outdoors (if the weather is also cooperative) and definitely worth going to with your furry friend.
How to travel to Ireland
We tried to read up on the different options for traveling to Ireland with your dog. This was not yet so easy. We couldn’t find a lot about the kennels on the ferries for instance. We think we finally found a way to get to Ireland that was the least annoying for Shampoo, so we hope to help you plan your trip to Ireland. Read more of this below!
